Erin Reads
Last month on Erin Reads:
- I looked back on December and wrapped up 2011.
- Reading Buddies read A Room with a View by E.M. Forster (discussion, wrap-up) and chose The Razor’s Edge by W. Somerset Maugham for February.
- I shared thoughts on 1984 by George Orwell (audiobook), The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown (audiobook), The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell, Lost on Planet China by J. Maarten Troost (audiobook), and The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon (audiobook).
Your Turn!
That was my January. How was yours?
I had a slow January, and think I listened more than I read. I actually finished The Marriage Plot on audio, and really enjoyed it. It was the kind of book that grew richer as it progressed, and I missed the characters when it was finally over. I still haven’t written my review though 🙁 It’s such a big book that it almost defies encapsulation. Here’s hoping that you have an awesome February!
I had a really productive reading month in January…8 books in all.
I’m looking forward to The Marriage Plot this month or next; the more often I heard about it, the more I want to read it. I recently picked up Ready Player One on audio as well, but I’m still getting my feet wet (errrr, ears wet?) with listening to books more regularly.
As for my January, it was pretty near ideal, to the point where I worry that the other months can’t compare. Does this make me a “Book Half Read” gal instead of a “Half Book Left” gal?@ I should just enjoy the January and not worry so much, right?
wow, that’s a lot of audiobooks! My January was terrific, here is my recap: http://wordsandpeace.com/2012/02/02/january-wrap-up/
I have the Virgin Suicides cued up to be read in the coming month or so. Haven’t read the Marriage Plot yet. I’m curious to hear what you might have to say about it.
I recently read Ready Player One, and I think I may have to re-read it, or rather listen to it. I’ve heard the audio is just awesome from so many people.
